Iontophoresis Treatment Device Prototype

Project by Luke Sbityakov, NCSU Engineering Student

What is Iontophoresis?

Iontophoresis is a kind of treatment for excessive sweating, usually known as hyperhidrosis. Iontophoresis is often prescribed as a way to treat this condition, the only problem is that the devices are EXPENSIVE!

Why make this device?

The typical Iontophoresis machine retails for over $300, so I took it into my own hands to develop one for less than $150. This is the prototype that you are seeing right now!

Advantages of using WorkBench™

Prototyping on the WorkBench is much quicker and easier, especially iterative designs that are quickly changing. The way everything clicks together is satisfying and efficient. Another benefit is that it is extremely portable. You can pack up all of your components into the bottom container, and simply take the whole thing with you to a makerspace or another location.
