Kevin W. reached out to Phase Dock earlier this month to ask if Phase Dock had a circuit board holder for soldering. We didn’t.
But thanks to Kevin, now you can print your own!
Here’s how it happened. If you have ideas or designs you want to share, please do what Kevin did, just reach out!

Kevin to Phase Dock: “How about a circuit board holder for soldering? I think that might be quite handy.
There are a group of us Ham Radio guys that would like to get together and build circuits. I have a Work Bench 1007 with the attached storage box and I really like it.
I thought that with a PC Board holder for soldering would be a great way to consolidate my project into a single package for easy transport and portable working station. Just a thought. I’m going to try and design something myself, but being a bit lazy, if there was something ready made…..Just a thought.”
Phase Dock to Kevin: “Do you have a picture of something similar that you have in mind?”
Kevin: “I like this one! But it is too big, so I’m going to reduce it down to 75% of the original size and then redo the mounting holes to match the 4mm round holes on your Phase Dock. I think that will be just small enough to fit under the clear cover. If not, I will reduce till it does. I am retired and I have time to play.”

Kevin: “Here is my final iteration of the board holder. I wanted it to be low enough so the cover could fit over the holder and so that all the parts would fit in the attached storage box. The original design from Prusa had a HUGE foot print so I reduced the entire mode to 75% of the original then removed the feet. There are 2 countersunk holes passing vertically through the dovetail rail so it can be firmly attached to the Phase Dock [base] with 2 M4 25mm cap head screws. I plan on adding 2 tapped rivets to the underside of the Phase Dock to get rid of the nut and washer and to clean up the underside of the Phase Dock. (Still waiting for them to be delivered from Amazon.) If you are interested, I will send you the STL files. You are welcome to use the design anyway you want. I am working on a set of boots to increase the gripping of the board made out of TPU but in all actuality, I do not think they are really needed.”

Phase Dock: “Hello Kevin — It looks great! We don’t need the STLs. We encourage customers who design components that work with the Phase Dock WorkBench to upload the project STLs to Thingiverse. Be sure to include Phase Dock in the name of the project so searchers can find it.
Let me know when you’re done and I’ll send you a $10 coupon that you can use on anything on our website.
Thanks for doing this! I think it will help a lot of other engineers/makers!”
